China 中国美食

Bingfen and Lianggao (冰粉,凉糕), a traditional dessert from my mom's hometown: Longchang 隆昌. Bingfen is quite common but you will barely see any 凉糕 outside Longchang.

Chuanchuan 串串, similar to hotpot, but everything comes with a wooden stick and you eat them like barbeque (skewered hot pot). When I was young, I remember that a vegetable skewer costs 0.3 Yuan (0.06 CAD), and a meat skewer costs 1 Yuan (0.2 CAD)

Maocai 冒菜, again similar to hotpot, but everything was served in a large bowl with delicious soup. People say: Maocai is the hotpot for one person; Hotpot is the Maocai for a group of people. 冒菜是一个人的火锅,火锅是一群人的冒菜...

Just enjoy the hot pot with lots of chili.

Xiaomian 小面 again, but soup noodle type.

Suanmiaohuiguorou (蒜苗回锅肉)

Fuqifeipian (夫妻肺片)

Family dinner at my mom's hometown.

My high school lunch.

Hulatang 胡辣汤, a traditional breakfast in western Henan province.

Shengjian 生煎 in Shanghai. It tastes sweet despite there is meat inside!
